"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." -Romans 12:12

When any kind of pain, distress or grief steps in throughout the day, be patient. Allow God to use these times to mold us into the person He wants us to be. When faced with affliction be faithful and quick to pray to the God who created the universe; the God who loves you so much He sent His Son to die for you. After you pray be joyful in the hope you have in Him. Our hope is not merely wishful thinking, it is knowing without a doubt that God will get us through whatever comes our way, whatever it may be. That is the hope we have and because of that hope we have joy, if we remain faithful in prayer. So in order to be transformed as Paul speaks about in the previous verses, we need to learn to trust God rather than take matters into our own hands. You say you've been feeling weaker, weaker by the day. You say you can't make the joy of your salvation stay. But good things come to them that wait, not to those who hesitate. So hurry up and wait upon the Lord.

Christian, we wait upon the Lord. We wait patiently yet expectantly because we know who we have placed our trust in. We shall endure because we know we have the power to accomplish any task that comes our way. So hurry up and wait upon the Lord!

If you're living for the weekend then Monday's are your enemy. If you're living "Zoe" then Friday's and Monday's are no different. Zoe means "fullness of life" rather than mere existence like a hamster on the wheel.

Jesus said, the thief comes only to kill, steal and destroy but I have come that they may have life more abundant (John 10:10).

20 years ago I wanted to end my life because I felt I was merely existing. Long story short God came into my life and now I know what Zoe-fullness of life is. You may have a great life without Jesus but with Him it'll be that much fuller. That's why He came.

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have." -1Peter 3:15

Where is your hope found? What is the reason for the hope you have? Many would simply say God or Jesus but can we truly explain our faith we have in Jesus and why we truly believe what we believe?

Often times we don't like to talk about Jesus or God because we don't know how to answer the questions that come our way. Peter is telling us to ALWAYS be prepared to give an answer. What this alludes to is we need to know what we believe and be confident and passionate enough to carry on a conversation to explain the "why" behind what we believe. You see it's easy to believe something you hear but that could simply fall under what we call "blind faith." True faith is believing and also knowing why you believe and being able to line up what you believe with scripture.

Spend time today in God's word. Find the answers to the questions that come to mind or that people ask you. Be prepared to give an answer the next time someone asks you the reason for your hope. God bless and have an awesome Friday!

Everyday I read God's word and I am always amazed by the beauty of it. This is not to pat myself on the back but simply to share what I am passionate about. 

As Rod Stewart sang, back in the eighties, "We need passion!" Lets not be confused with passion. It is God's will that we would all be passionate for Him and His word more than anything else and to search for the truths in scripture and to live by them. What better person or thing is there to be passionate about than Jesus and the Bible?

To love God is to know Him and to seek Him and to learn about Him and to listen to Him. God wants more than half our heart. He wants all of it. When you are passionate about God above all other things that's when you will experience true peace and freedom from the fears and pains of this world.

Join me as we dig in to scripture and unfold the truths, warnings, promises and mysteries of God's written word. See how awesome God is when you make Him your number one passion in life.

"Therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding..." -Isaiah 5:13

God disciplines those He loves. God allowed "His people" to be taken over by the enemy because of their lack of understanding of God and His ways. Life has NEVER been about do whatever you want or whatever makes you feel good. Life is about God. Knowing and following God requires discipline, self sacrifice, honor, respect, reverence and fear.

Are you living in such a way as to honor God? Do you understand His ways and what He desires? Let's not be a people (His people) who He allows to be taken over by His enemies because we lack understanding and discipline.

Let's dig into the bible together. I believe God is doing great work here on Kauai but we need to know Him better. We will know Him by reading the bible.
