"For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is God’s powerful method of bringing all who believe it to heaven. This message was preached first to the Jews alone, but now everyone is invited to come to God in this same way. This Good News tells us that God makes us ready for heaven—makes us right in God’s sight—when we put our faith and trust in Christ to save us. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scripture says it, "The man who finds life will find it through trusting God." --Romans 1:16-17 (TLB)

Yesterday (Sunday) they were praising Jesus and yelling Hosanna! By Friday many of the same people will be yelling CRUCIFY HIM! Isn't it ironic how we can worship Him one minute and the next minute we're flipping out, using profanities and living in ways that go totally against all He stands for? Are we any different from the crowd? Worship is a lifestyle not a weekly event. I need to remind myself that.
You don't need a yacht, fancy clothes, a big house, nice cars, gold and diamonds, popularity and the like to experience life to the fullest. It's something you can do right where you're at with whatever you have. But it's a million times easier with Jesus. With Jesus you gain life now (John 10:10) and life after. It's a win win situation.
"Since you became alive again, so to speak, when Christ arose from the dead, now set your sights on the rich treasures and joys of heaven where he sits beside God in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here. You should have as little desire for this world as a dead person does. Your real life is in heaven with Christ and God. And when Christ who is our real life comes back again, you will shine with him and share in all his glories." -Colossians 3:1-4 (TLB) |
Pastor StephenSnippets are what pops in my head while having my daily quiet time with God. I write it down to maybe encourage, challenge or inspire others to read God's word. Please feel free to share your snippets as well. Enjoy and God bless! Archives
