The word Maundy is the Latin word for “command.” “Maundy Thursday” refers to the command Jesus gave to the disciples at the Last Supper when He washed His disciples feet, that they should love and serve one another. Serving people, especially those you feel are below you, is commanded. When we have an attitude to serve others we imitate the same humble attitude of Jesus (Philippians 2:1-11). May God be glorified through our works of service as we we follow our true role model, Jesus.
